Begin your Belize adventure with a warm welcome to Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), followed by a transfer to your lodge nestled within the heart of the Mayan rainforest of Belize. Get ready to embrace the serenity of your surroundings as you prepare for an unforgettable Belize trip.

After breakfast, you’ll immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity of the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for delicate bird species within its expansive wetland ecosystem. Marvel at the sights and sounds of the awakening wilderness and observe birds feeding along the shores of the Crooked Tree Lagoons.
Later in the day, journey to the ancient Mayan Temple of Altun Ha, a symbolic ceremonial center and trading hub during the Classic Period. The site covered about five square miles and was once a thriving Maya city that supported a population of around 10,000 inhabitants. Explore this remarkable site, boasting over 275 structures, numerous unexcavated mounds, and two central plazas surrounded by towering temples and residential buildings.
At the heart of Altun Ha lies the Temple of the Masonry Altars, the largest and most significant temple at the site, standing 54 feet high. This impressive structure has intricate stucco carvings and the famous Jade Head, representing the Maya Sun God, Kinich Ahau, the largest carved jade object discovered in the Maya world.
As you wander through the ruins, uncover the history and architecture of this once-thriving Maya city and gain insight into the daily lives of its inhabitants. Engage with the surrounding lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere as you step back in time to experience the grandeur of the ancient Maya civilization.
Embark on an adventure to the Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve, where you’ll experience exhilarating cave tubing or kayaking through its extensive limestone cave system. Witness schools of cave fish, awe-inspiring stalactites, and enigmatic Mayan paintings adorning the cave ceilings.
Following your cave exploration, head to the picturesque village of Hopkins. The town is far from the usual tourist hotspots, making it a welcoming and unspoiled village. You can immerse yourself in the local Garifuna culture, enjoy the stunning beaches, and partake in various outdoor activities and attractions. The town is situated on Belize’s Caribbean coast, providing access to some of the country’s most immaculate and unspoiled beaches. Absorb the local charm and culture as you unwind in preparation for the upcoming exploration of the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary.
Two nights in Hopkins.
Today, our schedule has a half-day walking tour in Hopkins. During this tour, you can sample delicious cultural cuisine and drinks while learning fascinating facts about Hopkins.
You will dine at various restaurants owned by local chefs. You can indulge in the flavorful signature dishes and better understand Hopkins’s history and culture.
Your guide will narrate the story of Hopkins through the lens of its cuisine. We aim to offer you an outstanding food and cultural experience, allowing you to confidently explore neighborhoods and enjoy the diverse food and cultural options available after the tour.
Venture into the heart of the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, the world’s only jaguar preserve, teeming with diverse flora and fauna. Surrounded by the Maya Mountains and Victoria’s Peak, this sanctuary is home to not just jaguars but jaguarundi, margays, ocelots, pumas, deer, howler monkeys, and tapirs.
Begin your experience with a visit to the traditional village of Maya Center, where Mayan arts and crafts are available for purchase. Delve into the park’s numerous hiking trails, including one leading to a refreshing waterfall, while your knowledgeable guides share insights about the region’s abundant plant and bird life. At the end of the tour, we’ll drive to Placencia.

Placencia is a stunning expanse of sandy beach that protrudes from the mainland. The village is at the southern tip of a narrow, lengthy sandy peninsula. Today Placencia is honored to be one of Belize’s top beach destinations. This once humble fishing village has become a getaway with top-notch dining options, beachfront bars, and fine hotels.
All along the full moons of May and June notably, snorkelers and divers are drawn here as the fascinating whale sharks come to feed in the neighboring waters. Contact us if you plan your trip in May and June and want to see the fantastic whale sharks in the water.
If you want to extend your stay in Placencia, please contact us. Today is currently open, and you can include additional activities like snorkeling at the Silk Cayes.
This fantastic trip has come to an end. A driver will take you to the local airport, and you will take a domestic flight to the international airport in Belize.

The Silk Cayes are a well-known spot for snorkeling and boast incredible coral formations on the nearby Barrier Reef. The area is in a marine reserve set up to safeguard the outer reef. Our helpful guides can assist you in locating the coral and observing the captivating corals and marine life. Following your second snorkeling stop, you will visit an area within the barrier reef where local fishermen clean their fish. You will likely be able to observe and interact with rays, giant turtles, and nurse sharks up close.
