Uninhabited Island

Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Mujeres Island tour and ‘Contoy’ Island. Enjoy the wonders that Contoy Island and Mujeres Island can offer you. Contoy Island is a place that few have had the privilege to discover, as this virgin island is uninhabited. Only the biologists that look after the wildlife living on the island are allowed to stay there.  Contoy Island is situated at the beginning of the second largest coral reef chain in the world, the Great Mexican Reef.

The beaches are shallow, clear and calm with an abundance of aquatic life that will thrill any snorkeler. With the white sand and crystal clear water of the Caribbean Ocean surrounding it, this island is a true paradise with lagoons and a bustling wildlife and lush flora. You will have the opportunity to gaze at exotic birds and other animals, including iguanas and hermit crabs, which are all over the place. Then, go to the coast on the picturesque Mujeres Island to bathe in the wonderful beaches or take a walk through the colored streets of this fishing village before returning to Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

What to expect

A private driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. You will go in a speedboat from Cancun to the heavenly island of ‘Contoy’. On the way, you can snorkel along one of the largest coral reefs in the world and be in contact with a wide variety of tropical fish. Once on the island, you will enjoy free time to admire the different species of birds and animals that inhabit it or just enjoy the beach.

After you savor a typical regional food, we will depart to Mujeres Island where you can observe the friendly rays and pelicans or walk through the colorful village or even snorkel on its beautiful beaches. There are a lot of shops right by the dock, and you can rent scooters or golf carts to tour the island. We provide transportation to take you back to your hotel at the end of the day. Check out Our Mexico Tours or contact us for more information, we will be happy to help you.
